| Members Description: | Wayne Pitt has worked at Auctions America since its inception. Specializing in collectible motorcycles, he has a broad industry knowledge based on more than 50 years of experience. A lifelong enthusiast, Pitt inherited his passion for the hobby from his father, an active participant in speedway, flat-track and hill-climb racing in the 1930s. After serving in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam, he enjoyed a successful eight-year career in speedway and ice racing, competing at various circuits across North America, including Daytona Beach, Florida, Pennsylvania and New York. Following his retirement from competitive racing in 1978, Pitt became an antique dealer before entering into a 30-year career managing motorcycle and automotive dealerships. In addition to his important role as a motorcycle specialist at Auctions America, Pitt currently acts as general manager of Duke's Harley-Davidson in Blenheim, Ontario. He also participates in local drag-racing events whenever possible. Pitt specializes in well-known American marques such as Harley-Davidson and Indian, with expertise in select, exotic European marques. |
