How do you take on the project of restoring a 3,100 car of this magnitude from the 1950's? This was a frame off restoration.



All rebuilt mechanicals, engine and transmission run smooth and quiet, suspension, mounts, brakes, tires all run true and steady. At 80 mph there are no vibrations.

Dual [correct & real] tear drop spot lights, dual rearview mirrors, dual rear window defrosters, 18-8 stainless dual exhaust system, road lamps and 6 seat belts with 50’s style aircraft buckles.

Power steering [rack & pinion], power brakes [front disc], power windows, power seats, power antenna, power Multi-Luber automatic lubricating system [disconnected], Vintage air conditioning and heating system.

Accessory steering wheel, day-night rear view mirror, traffic signal viewer reflector, Town & Country signal seeking radio, rear speaker, windshield washer.

Mercury [NOS] accessory spinner hub caps [5] and a full set of restored standard Montclair full hub caps, 3 sets of valve covers – an original painted set, a chrome plated set and a brushed aluminum T-Bird set,

wide white wall radial P225/75/R15 tires includes the regular spare and the spare inside the continental kit, 12 volt electrical system, new am/fm/cd with remote, door locking, alarm, satellite tracking & anti-theft system.

This is absolutely "one of the best looking examples of the 1950's ever built".

There were 2 versions of the “Montclair Sport Coupe” built.. 71,588 solid steel top unites were produced, and 1.787 glass top Sun Valley unites were produced. They also produced 10,668 convertibles. A total of 330,000 Mercury cars built for the 1955 model year. This included all 3 series, the Custom, the Monterey Montclair.
