| Sold it quick here on CarProperty.com I bought it from the 2nd owner, a kawasaki mechanic who had too many old bikes (2 70s bmws, a matchless basket case and several projects) I really wanted to keep it because it so much fun around town but space (and spousal) issues say otherwise... shes mostly stock. i changed out the bars for lower ones. the tach didnt work and i traced it to the drive, which i replaced. electrics went haywire 2 months after i bought it (damn lucas) so a tympanium unit went in. the aftermarket peashooters that were on it had holes in them so i switched back out for the originals which were totally rotten inside from being stored 20 years. changed out for the short mufflers and the sound is great. cylinder base vibrated loose and developed an oil leak about 1k miles ago and had a top end rebuild which is when i found out it was bored 6 over with some crazy high compression race pistons. top end rebult at that time. new tires (5 miles on them....test ride...). carb just sonic cleaned and new needle. currently running good but needs points or electronic ignition. worm gear on the rear speedo drive went caput on my last ride so it needs a new speedo drive. there is a dent/scratch on the right header pipe at the bend. doesnt look like it was down but rather like someone bumped into it with something. i have pretty much every piece i have replaced/removed on the bike as well. also a parts book and repairs guide. I wanted to make a cafe or bobber but she was in such good shape i couldnt bear to do it. all major work done by crazy welshman steve reed at carbworx (www.carbworx.com) $3,250 firm. Im in Lynchburg VA. I have a trailer and would be willing to deliver within 1 hour drive for free. I'd be willing to travel @3hrs for gas money.
