The home had an attached 3 car garage and Bo requested that a second three car garage be built on the property (where the 8 car garage is currently located). Some time later, Bo sold the existing three car garage to his next door neighbor (the property in front) and built the 8 car garage. Bo was an avid collector of any car powered by Ford. He was also an amateur race driver. His collection included a 427 Cobra, one of two “Battlebirds” which was a race car built by Ford in the mid-fifties based on the ’56 Thunderbird, several ‘60’s Shelby Mustangs including the Hertz 350 and a 500GT Convertible. He also owned several Saleen Mustangs that he raced. He sold the house in 1995 as he needed a larger garage. He later built a 28 car garage at his new home south of Blackhawk. Pat (last named deleted) collects and restores classic Mercedes from the ‘50s and ‘60s. He has restored three Mercedes from the ground up in this garage (not including paint and body work) that have won awards at local shows such as Palo Alto, Silverado, Hillsbourgh and Half Moon Bay. He is very active in the Gullwing Group International, serving as the President of the Northern Californa Chapter as well as being an officer of the Board of Directors. He has hosted annual spring parties of the Gullwing group at the house which can have as many as 20 vintage cars displayed in the large driveway.
